Curtabemdoodles are very excited to introduce our new line of Curtabem Mountaindoodles.
One reason for this is that even with all the magnificent traits of our Bernedoodles, which I personally LOVE, they can be a little stubborn and some a little wary of strangers.
My hope is that adding in the golden retriever will help with this.
This has been tried and tested by other breeders across the world, and It seems to be working.
Our Curtabem Mountaindoodles will be a cross between a Bernedoodle and either a Goldendoodle or an ultimate doodle. We have named our own breed, the Curtabem Mountaindoodle as we believe that rather than restricting the mix between a Goldendoodle and a Bernedoodle, we should base our pairings on genetics, temperament and coat. And we have some wonderful Ultimate Doodle mamas who will make wonderful Curtabem Mountaindoodle parents!
Because this is such a new venture, we don't have as many photos of our own Curtabem Mountaindoodles; some of the images here show Golden Mountain Doodles which are not necessarily from Curtabemdoodles
The Golden Retriever
Golden Retrievers bring a submissive, fun loving, and clever personality to The Golden Mountain Doodle. They have a respectful demeanor, and make them incredible family pets, especially around small children. They are an active dog breed that love to fetch, run, and play. Golden Retrievers are also very caring making them great emotional support dogs, disability supporters, and search and rescue dogs.
Golden Retrievers are known for their lovely thick coat and are renowned for shedding heavily. The combination of lovely temperament and heavy shedding has led to the Retriever being crossed with poodles to achieve low or non-shedding Goldendoodles.
The Poodle ranks high on the canine intelligence scale. They are very trainable and with work can excel in many ways.
Their low- to non-shedding coat makes poodles a great choice for those with allergies. It is often overlooked how goofy and fun poodles are; they are the clowns of the dog world, and have been used in circus acts for centuries due to theirwonderful and fun loving character.
The breed originated as a duck hunter in Germany, where the word “pudelin” refers to splashing in water.
The Standard Poodle began its development as a retrieving water dog more than 400 years ago. With a crisp, curly coat as protection against the elements, great swimming ability and off the chart intelligence, the Poodle was, and still is, a magnificent retriever.

The Bernese Mountain Dog
Bernese Mountain Dogs are placid, easy going and extreme loyalty. They are completely dedicated to their families, and LOVE children.
Bernese Mountain dogs are strikingly beautiful dogs with their distinctive tri-coloured coats. Bred in the Swiss Alps as farm dogs that pulled carts or drove cattle to market, the Bernese love the cold weather, and have a double coat that sheds regularly.
They are an intelligent, strong dog that have moderate/high exercise requirements. The Bernese are often used in activities such as agility, tracking, herding, and therapy work.
The Curtabem Mountaindoodle
The Curtabem Mountaindoodles are bred from a Bernedoodle and either a Goldendoodle or an Ultimate Doodle. Typically, the resulting Bernedoodle and Goldendoodle mix are at least F2B generation, meaning that their offspring have at least 50% Poodle genetics, less than 25% Bernese Mountain Dog genetics, and less than 25% Golden Retriever genetics.
Curtabem Mountaindoodles will vary in size and colour depending on their parentage and will have a non-shedding coat. With careful breeding, Curtabem Mountaindoodles will have the fun, loving intelligence of the Bernedoodle alongside the more relaxed, amenable nature of the Golden Retriever.
Golden Mountain Doodles come in a range of colours.
